Good Cow Products

Good Cow has two product categories, Good Cow Concentrates and Dairy by Design. In the Good Cow Concentrates section you will find:

  • Whole Milk
  • Reduced Fat Milk
  • Low Fat Milk
  • Non Fat Milk
  • Half & Half
  • Reduced Fat Chocolate
  • High Fat Chocolate
  • Café Latte
  • Low Fat Chocolate Milk

Some of the products are available in fresh or shelf-stable option. Obviously, fresh is, well, fresh.

However, shelf-stable means that the product is concentrated. The shelf life for a shelf-stable product is 180 days. Once open, the product needs to be refrigerated and has a shorter shelf life. The less concentrated products have a shelf life of 30 days.

Dairy by Design products are targeted towards specific nutritional needs. These products typically go through ultra filtration processes and are lactose free.

Dairy by Design products include:

  • Moo-Cacinno: Coffee
  • Moo-Cacinno: Vanilla
  • Moo-Cacinno: Mocha
  • Milk for Women

Good Cow and rBST

All of the Good Cow products are rBST free, which means that there are no added hormones. In addition, according to Good Cow, their product standards are five times higher than the USDA requirements.

Good Cow and Food Service

Good Cow products are specifically made for the food service business. As such, the benefit is that a company can have a fresh milk product that still has an extended shelf like.

Good Cow fresh milk as about a two times longer shelf life than other milk products. All the milk products produced by Good Cow are USDA Grade A milk products.

Good Cow Dairy Protein

Good Cow Dairy by Design products have higher protein levels than other milk products. Good Cow adds soy and whey proteins after the filtration processes.

  • Good Cow also increases calcium levels in their milk products. In addition, their filtration process removes carbohydrates from the milk.
  • Like regular milk products, once you constitute the milk for use, it will foam just like regular milk does. According to Good Cow, for the products with high protein levels the foaming is even more prolific.
  • Good Cow also has a focus on the environment. The packaging that Good Cow uses is made from at least 50% recycled materials.
  • The bags that Good Cow uses inside their boxes to prevent condensation from destroying the cardboard is a poly material; all Good Cow packing material is easily recycled.
  • Good Cow claims that they have less of an environmental impact because they extract over half of the water that is in their milk by reverse osmosis. In addition, any water in the Good Cow facility that isn’t potable is used for field irrigation.

Most of the milk from Good Cow comes directly from their farm, which is located in the same place the milk is processed. That means that diesel trucks aren’t used to transport the milk.

Good Cow Technology

The technology used by Good Cow to filter their milk is FDA approved. During that process, they remove 60% of the water from the milk to create their concentrate products.

Because the source of Good Cow milk is so close to their processing facility it is chilled immediately, which ensures that the flavor is sustained throughout the filtration process.

Because of the process used, the shelf life for Good Cow cold fresh milk is 30 days, which provides a great benefit to food service companies. The concentrate is then put into bags, rather than cartons.
