In 1984, Solaray expanded its operations to start offering a full line of vitamins and minerals in addition to the herbal supplements. Recently they have expanded again and are now marketing soy products, including soy protein energy meals, under the brand label Soytein.

Solaray maintains that they do not use any artificial colors, flavoring, preservatives, or coatings in their products. Solaray also states that all of its products were developed based on extensive research; however this research was not cited on the website.

Solaray does describe the process they use for quality testing of all ingredients and finished products at their own manufacturing facility.

Solaray is currently marketing over 900 products, which is very extensive for one company in this industry. Solaray products are sold in health food stores only and through select online retailers but not at mass market chain stores and pharmacies.

Solaray makes hundreds of other products in addition to these. They make products for weight loss, specialty supplements designed to improve the health of one particular aspect of the body, and multivitamins designed for overall health and wellness.

Solaray has a line of antioxidants and another line of essential fatty acids. All of Solaray’s supplements are available in capsule form, which are designed to easily disintegrate to aid in digestion, quick absorption into the bloodstream, and ease of swallowing.

With so many products you are bound to find some customer reviews that are less than positive, although overall most product reviews were very favorable. Solaray appears to be a company that stands behind its products, offering customer support as needed and, when that does not work, a money back guarantee.

Solaray has received the #1 Full Line Supplement Company Award by Whole Foods Magazine for several years in a row. It would be nice to be able to view the research data that Solaray claims supports its products and ingredients.

Still, the company has stood the test of time and seems to be continuing to grow and develop which is commendable at a time when many supplement companies are unable to continue to make a profit.
