- Step 1: Stand with your feet spread 2-3 ft. apart. This is your starting position.
- Step 2: While standing, reach your arms to the side and upwards. You want your palms facing the floor and your arms parallel with the ground.
- Step 3: While holding this position, turn right foot to the right. You will go almost 90 degrees. Then, turn your left foot the same direction as your right but only go around 45 degrees.
- Step 4: While holding this position, adjust your hips to allow for you to bend at the hips and reach towards the floor. Place your hand on the mat and on the outside of your right foot.
- Step 5: Stay in this position and raise your left arm till it is pointing towards the ceiling and aligned straight down to through your right arm and the floor.
- Step 6: Your head can rest in a normal, comfortable position, or you can look to the ceiling and align your head with your arms.
- Step 7: Hold the stretch for the desired breaths.
- Step 8: Inhale and bend upwards to return to starting position.
- Step 9: Repeat exercise for other leg.
