keg carry is a free weights and cardiovascular exercise that primarily targets the quads and to a lesser degree also targets the biceps, calves, forearms, glutes, hamstrings, middle back and traps.

The only keg carry equipment that you really need is the following: keg. There are however many different keg carry variations that you can try out that may require different types of keg carry equipment or may even require no equipment at all.

Tips

  1. Be careful not to drop the keg on your feet or on a hard surface so as to dent/break the keg.
  2. Try to walk as quickly as possible. Shoot for a distance and focus on achieving getting to that spot.
  3. Keep your back straight and not bent forward. Also, try not to lean back too far in an effort to hold the keg.

Variations

  1. Hold the keg above your head with arms locked and walk as far as you can.
  2. Hold the keg upright with a bear hug grip (place hands around the keg and lock fingers together).
  3. Place the keg upright and hold by the top handles. Walk as far as you can.
