- Step 1: Rugby is a contact sport where you are allowed to run the ball, throw it back to a teammate, or kick the ball forward.
- Step 2: If you are running with the ball it is important that you hold onto the ball tightly, keep your body compact, and keep your legs moving. You are allowed to also push the defender off with your arm.
- Step 3: The defense is trying to tackle the person with the ball and steal the ball, some of the defense is marking the other players on offense. The other offensive players are either blocking or rotating to a spot where they can receive a pass.
- Step 4: When tackling it is important that you use your arms to wrap up the offensive players. Try to bring him down at the legs.
- Step 5: Offensive players blocking should use their arms and continue to drive their legs creating momentum to drive back the defender or to push down on the ground.
- Step 6: If you are off the ball on defense keep your head on a swivel, body in athletic position, and ready to react to where the ball goes next.
- Step 7: When kicking the ball make sure that you plant your back leg and squarely hit the ball with inside top of your foot.
- Step 8: Game is played for the desired amount of time or points scored.
