- Step 1: The pitcher has to throw the ball over the plate underhand and the ball has to have enough loft on it or it will be called a ball.
- Step 2: The batter has to hit he ball in fair field and not have the defense catch the ball out of the air to have a chance to get on base.
- Step 3: The offense has 3 outs to score runs before they have to switch to defense. There are 7-9 innings (3 outs as offense and 3 out a defense) in a game.
- Step 4: When you are hitting make sure that you are in a hitting stance with your knees slightly bent. Keep your eyes on the ball and swing the bat forward as the ball comes in (if it is a good pitch).
- Step 5: The defense needs to be in an athletic stance ready to react to the ball if it is hit in their direction. If they catch the ball in the air the player is out but if the ball bounces or there are other runners already on base they need to throw the ball back to the infield as quickly as possible.
- Step 6: A player scores a run by getting all the way around the bases in an inning. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.
