If Tyler Relph is known for one thing, it’s probably his insane ball-handling skills! This Tuesday, Tyler of Dr1ven Training is here to teach you how he and his NBA clients develop and maintain mad handles.
Watch the video below to discover Tyler’s two ball hard-pound drill:
Here’s a recap of Tyler’s tips:
- Have a good base – For this drill, keep your elbows to the ground and your eyes and chest up. Additionally, standing with your legs apart creates balance and allows you to channel your ultimate power.
- Start low and work up – Move from your knees up to your shoulders. Begin by pounding the ball five times below the knees, then pound the ball five times at the waist, and finally, pound the ball at shoulder height.
- Know your level – If you’re at an intermediate level, focus on ball control and maintaining a solid base. If you’re at an elite level, work on pushing your upper body — pound the ball as hard as you can to get it back to your hands.
