As one of the top basketball-specific Performance Enhancement Coaches in the world, Paul Fabritz knows the secrets to great dribbling skills!
Watch the video below to learn Fabritz’s tips for dominating the dribble:
Here’s a recap of Fabritz’s tips:
- The key is pounding – Although many people believe that the position of your fingertips or the way you flick your wrist is the key to perfect dribbling, the real key is a full triple extension, which is a solid pound.
- Maintain good form – To achieve and maintain a solid pound, you need to develop proper form first. Start by pretending to shoot a basketball. Just as you release the imaginary ball, hold your position. Bring your shooting arm down to your side, while holding the post-shot position. The lowered post-shot position is the form that you will need to achieve a strong pound.
- Use pounding to keep the ball in your control – As you dribble, if you pound the ball, it will return to your hand more quickly. Then the ball can stay in your control, not your opponent’s.
