This means that you are going to sprint for 30 seconds and then without taking a break you are going to jog for 1-2 minutes and then sprint again for 30 seconds, you are going to sprint for 8 total times. Rotate back and forth for the entire time. The better you get in shape the less jog time you should have in between sprints.
